Original photography by Kristan Kelly

The artist’s statement: “I am a photographer living in Southern Oregon with my husband and youngest kid. Photography is my calling, my passion, my other love. I find the beauty in the small details, and capture the moments people experience.

Capturing a moment takes commitment to the subject. It takes the right light and the right emotions. I am passionate about what I do because I care deeply about what I am photographing. Over the past 30 years, both professionally and personally, my process has evolved into an experience-not just a photo session.

This current body of work grew out of something quieter and more personal: noticing hearts in unexpected places in the natural world. A heart-shaped rock on the beach, a heart cloud drifting by over the mountains or even the simple curve of food on a plate.

These small discoveries feel like reminders that love and connection are present everywhere if we take the time to look.

Please enjoy the images and thank you to Gallery 1624 for showing my work.”

2 x 2″ archival photographs mounted on 3 x 3″ mats.

Before we learned our home was gone, we had to wait in the next town waiting for the fire to be controlled. We were there for hours. I found this yellow leaf, symbolizing a warning of what was ahead.
